I love stepping into another's closet just to see how they organize things, what colors they most often wear, or even if they color code their garments depending upon the season and type of clothing
Since I am an Early Childhood/Elementary Education major student teaching, tutoring, and observing at four different field placement facilities this semester I am required to dress differently depending upon where I am headed each day. Some facilities ask for students to dress appropriately comfy and others ask that we dress professionally just depending upon our location in the city. Also, when dealing with little friends you must take into consideration all activities and what could or would happen given any random situation.
I spent a crazy unhealthy amount of time on Pinterest the other day while waiting for Tony to get home from work skimming a couple of different ideas that I could contribute to pieces I already have in my wardrobe. I wanted to play around with different ways that I can make outfits not look like that fifty year old teacher in a sweater and khakis. I want to appear presentable, fashionable and yet polished based on my personal values. Instead of standing out, I am going for functional, comfortable, and chic. I am not fashionista. However, I do like to feel pretty and be comfortable like most other ladies out there.

As you can tell, I am obsessed with Target's clothing line. All of the items that I buy from Target are part of the Menorma vendor. It seems that their pants are the only ones that I can find that fit my waist *and* hips without having that huge gap in the back. I also own many flats, scarves, and purses that are part of the Menorma fashion line. Everything is always very reasonably priced and fashionable cute! Another plus with their line of clothing is that everything lasts for a good duration of time after multiple washes, which I love! I am not sure if you all have had a chance to check out the new line from Prabal Gurung, which recently launched at Target. Of course it is phenomenal and I am itching to run by today to grab a few of my favorite pieces I have been eyeing online!
Are you an education major looking for some "professional wardrobe ideas"? If so, check out Jamie's take over at Southern Simplicity on Back To School: Teacher Style. Also, another fashionable blogger is Lauren over at From My Grey Desk Blog. I love her ideas for incorporating patterns and color so that khakis are not so boring!
Last but certainly not least, I am SO excited to announce that I will be branching out of my comfort zone a bit to begin working with another website on all things fashion. Currently I am covering fashion week!! Ekk! Can you say excited times one million bajillion?! :) If you have a minute run on over to Haute Weekly and take a look around. I will be sure to keep you up to date on all things that I contribute in the near future!
I would love to know what you wear for your professional days?
